Group Personal Pension Plans (GPP)

Group Personal Pension (GPP) is a collection of personal pension plans (PPPs, including stakeholder pension). It is available to any UK resident who is under 75 years of age. Provided by an employer for its employees, the employer will choose the financial provider on behalf of its employees.

The GPP, and the stakeholder pension, are known as defined contributions schemes and are essentially an investment policy, which is used to purchase your pension (income) when you retire.

The GPP, although they are sometimes referred to as company pension, are not run by employers and should not be confused with occupational pensions. Occupational pensions are subjected to different rules and obligations that the employer will provide for members and their dependants.
